Where to Eat & Drink on Nantucket: A Complete Dining Guide

Nantucket punches well above its weight when it comes to food and drink. For an island of roughly 15,000 year-round residents, the dining scene is genuinely exceptional — fresh seafood, creative kitchens, beloved local institutions, and a handful of spots that would hold their own in any major city.

This guide covers the full range: fine dining and casual spots, sandwich shops and seafood markets, bakeries, grocery stores, and places to stock up on wine and spirits. Everything is alphabetized within each category, with price estimates to help you plan.

Price guide: $ = under $15/person · $$ = $15–$35 · $$$ = $35–$65 · $$$$ = $65+

A Note on Reservations

Nantucket's best restaurants fill up weeks in advance during peak season (July and August). If you have a specific dinner in mind — The Proprietors, TOPPER'S, Ventuno, The Chanticleer — book before you arrive. Most restaurants use OpenTable or Resy; links are included above where available.

For casual spots, walk-ins are generally fine, though popular lunch counters and seafood markets can have lines during peak hours. Arriving early or late in the lunch window usually helps.

If you'd like a personal recommendation based on your group size, preferences, or a special occasion, don't hesitate to reach out to the property manager — happy to help point you in the right direction.
